Our Gatlinburg restaurant honors the memory of Cumberland Jack, who was Paul Adams’ closest companion in the 1920s. Adams was hired to construct the first lodge on Mount LeConte and became the first caretaker of LeConte Lodge. He got Cumberland Jack, a German Shepherd, for companionship and protection. Not only did Cumberland Jack protect Adams, but he also fetched groceries and supplies from the Ogle Store in Gatlinburg to bring back up the mountain. We want to carry on the legacy of Cumberland Jack by providing hungry travelers with the nourishment they need for a fun-filled adventure in the Smokies and a friendly atmosphere to enjoy it in.
